Allergy Treatment – How It Work
Allergies are your body’s reaction to pollen and other “allergens” in the air. Our bodies treat pollen, dust and mold as invaders, and they attempt to protect us by releasing histamines. The histamine response includes all of the common allergy symptoms – runny nose, itchy eyes, scratchy throat, etc. The trouble is, the allergens pose no threat to our health and there is no danger. But our bodies don’t realize this. It’s a false alarm that results in annoying and sometimes debilitating symptoms.
Acupuncture strengthens your ability to have a healthy, normalize response to allergens like pollens, molds and dust. By strengthen what we call the spleen, kidney and lung function of a person (depending on their particular needs) we can help their body react normally to harmless allergens. This allows us to avoid the histamine response.
Your allergy treatment will be specific for you, focused on strengthening the weak links in your system. We also have Chinese herbs that help fight the allergic response, without the negative side effects of “over the counter” Western allergy medicines.
