Recent Labor Induction
A few months ago, a woman came to our clinic seeking labor induction. Her due date had passed four days earlier, and her doctor had given her the green light to try acupuncture. They were going to induce her the following week if labor did not start independently. She was not dilated at all and only had intermittent contractions.
The treatment went smoothly, using acupoints on her legs and feet to gently stimulate her cervix and uterus. Afterward, she went home to wait. Six hours later, she reported that contractions began in earnest, and by the following morning, her doctor admitted her into the hospital, where she gave birth early that afternoon.
