What Is GERD?
GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease) is a chronic stomach condition brought on by stomach acid flowing into the food pipe and irritates the lining. Acid reflux and heartburn more than twice a indicates that you probably havde GERD. Symptoms include burning pain in the chest that occurs after eating and gets worse lying down. Over-the-counter medications don’t work and stronger medication (with their side effects) are hit and miss.
The Solution

The stomach, like any other organ in the body, can get out of balance. When it does, it starts creating undesirable symptoms – things like acid reflux, bloating, stomach pain, frequent belching and nausea. Now each disharmony requires a different treatment. So someone with acid reflux will receive a different treatment than someone suffering from bloating or nausea. But the result is the same, a return to balance and a resolution of painful symptoms.
What To Expect
On your first visit we will conduct an intake exam, ask you detailed questions about your acid reflux, feel your pulse and look at your tongue. This information will allow us to make a Chinese medicine diagnosis of the cause of your reflux. Armed with this diagnosis, we can then create a GERD relief treatment plan to address the imbalance and begin the process of returning your stomach to homeostasis.
The treatments themselves are very relaxing. We use sterile, single use, hair thin needles. Most of the points are located on the arms and legs, from the elbows and knees down. Some points will be on the abdomen. You will hardly feel them. Once they are in, you will become very relaxed. Many of our patients fall asleep during their treatments. Afterwards you will feel relaxed and rejuvenated.
With each treatment your stomach will become more and more balanced. As that happens, your acid reflux symptoms will become less and less apparent, until they are resolved completely. The number of treatments needed vary from person to person, but typically average from 6 to 12 sessions.
