Neck Exercises Video Part 1
This neck exercises video is Part 1 in a series of neck exercises developed by Jinmei Xu (Jade), practitioner at Raleigh Acupuncture.
Do you have neck pain? They are not joking when they say “pain in the neck.” Neck pain can be really annoying if not downright debilitating. At our office Raleigh Acupuncture Associates, we treat a lot of neck pain and shoulder pain. These cases seem to increase through the years. I contribute this to two reasons.
The 1st reason is that most people work in front of computers now. When you are working in front of a computer, you most likely tilt your head/neck forward to look at the screen. People can work intensely at the computer for hours at a time. That causes holding one position straining the neck for hours at a time. Then after work, people spend more time looking down at cell phones and tablets for social media, games, news and emails. Looking down for long periods of time is also bad for the neck.
The 2nd reason is that our population is getting older. Yes, the population is aging. Do you know that after 40 years old, people start to develop neck issues? I know, it is another example of age related ailments. But, no worries, there is treatment. Chinese medicine uses Chinese herbs, acupuncture, Tui Na, and Qi Gong/movement to combat neck pain.
The result is good. You just need to be patient with this natural medicine. It treats the body naturally and treats the root cause of the disease, so you need to stick with the treatment. Please do all the things a Chinese medicine practitioner tells you to do. Give it at least 6 weeks to see a significant improvement. If you follow the advise closely, your neck pain will improve. At least 96% of the cases that we have treated in our clinic see success.
