Neck Pain – An Epidemic
Why are so many people struggling with neck pain? Today’s lifestyle was not designed for our necks. Endless time in front of the computer, television and smart phone all tax the neck and upper back. Along with that, we live much more sedentary lives. We just don’t move around like we did ten thousand years ago, or even one hundred years ago. So we get stiff. Instead of throwing spears and gathering berries we click at keyboards, hold steering wheels and clench tiny pens in our fingers and scrawl on paper. All of these modern activities tighten our neck, shoulders and back – leading to pain.
That’s where acupuncture and stretching come in. They help circulate the Qi, move the blood and activate the muscles of the neck. This eases tightness and pain.
