Two facts we all know. Everyone has stress. And stress damages our health. But here’s something you may not know. Stress damages our health in a BIG way. The good news is that you can reduce stress naturally and effectively with acupuncture. And in the process you will improve your health!
The Problem
Once you understand stress from a Chinese medicine perspective, you will see how big a role stress plays in disease. Are you ready for a quick tour or Chinese medicine? Here we go.
There is a form of energy that moves around in our bodies. It’s called Qi (pronounced Chi). Think of this energy as similar to blood, moving all around the body, nourishing the muscles, organs, tendons and ligaments. Qi does similar things, keeping our bodies functioning properly.
Now if Qi stops circulating in the body, there is big trouble. Organs do not get the proper nourishment they need. Muscles and tendons get tight and don’t perform properly. The brain does not get the vital energy to think clearly, and the heart does not get the motivation to pump the blood. In a nutshell, if the Qi does not flow, there is serious trouble in the body and mind.
Guess what is the single greatest factor causing Qi to stagnate in the body. If you guessed “stress” you are right. Stress directly causes Qi to stop flowing properly. And since Qi moves the blood, when Qi stagnates, blood stagnates as well. Qi stagnation is the root of most disease, pain and discomfort in our bodies.
Did I mention that Qi stagnation also damages the immune system? Well it does. Add that adds to the dangers of unresolved stress.
How Acupuncture Helps
Acupuncture primes the body in a specific way so that when stress hits, Qi does not stagnate. Specifically, acupuncture for stress relief gives you a coat of armor, shielding you from the damaging impact of stress.
We can not stop stress from rising up in our lives. However, we can change the way stress affects us. If you get acupuncture, you will feel less stress in stressful situations, and your body will keep the Qi flowing in those same situations. You will remain healthy, your Qi and blood will continue to flow properly, and you will avoid disease.

What our Clients are Saying
I was feeling depressed and stressed because I didn’t like my job and didn’t know what to do with my life. I started taking Lexipro but it really affected my libido so I stopped taking it. I tried acupuncture because my husband said it helped him when he was depressed years earlier (before he met me!) I went to Raleigh Acupuncture and started treatments. They were really knowledgeable about Chinese medicine and explained how the body gets stuck in depression, and how the acupuncture gets the body unstuck. They really listened to me and helped me figure stuff out. I started feeling less depressed. Then I actually started getting more clear about what I wanted to do with my life career-wise. I decided to go back to school and now I’m almost done with my degree. I haven’t felt depressed at all since I was treated and I’m really excited about my life. I’m very grateful to them for being such great healers and such a great support to me when I really needed it.
Thank you for your gentle healing spirit. May God bless you as you help others in the healing methods of acupuncture.. My sessions for stress relief were very helpful. In gratitude.
I just started acupuncture and I can really see the benefits. I’ve done massages and all the Western style treatments but this is amazing! It relaxes me in ways I didn’t know could happen and I feel immediate results. I would recommend acupuncture as a treatment. The doctor was great in my initial meeting more thorough than my regular doctor. Highly recommend this!
