Toe Pain – What’s The Big Deal?
I’ll tell you what. Toe pain hurts! Living here in North Carolina there are a lot of prime activities that will get sidelined if your toes hurt. Hiking for one. Ever try taking a hike outside of Asheville with a sore big toe? How about walking Wrightsville Beach with toe pain? Not fun. Happen to run marathons or half marathons? Not a good idea with toe pain. Swimmers do alright until they push off the side of the pool. Owwww! Forget rock climbing. Rock climbing is ALL about the toes. And biking sure becomes less fun with a painful big toe.
What Can Acupuncture Do For Toe Pain?
Everything! Acupuncture makes toe pain disappear like pepperoni pizza at a super bowl party. Quickly and completely. It’s a similar healing process to pain at the bottom of the foot (plantar fasciitis) and Achilles tendinitis. All of these foot and ankle conditions respond incredibly well to acupuncture.
At Raleigh Acupuncture we have developed specific protocols for treating pain in various parts of the body. So if you live in the Raleigh area, come in to see us. But if you live elsewhere, call around and ask for the acupuncturist’s success rate with toe pain. Chances are they will be able to help you.
What Should You Expect?
First of all, you need to know that acupuncturists receive a lot of training before they are allowed to stick you with needles. 4 years of graduate training, to be exact. That’s over 3500 hours of training, including an extensive internship. So if you’re nervous about acupuncture, don’t be. We’ve got the equivalent educational training as a dentist, and you let dentists perform surgery in your mouth!
Secondly, the needles are sterile, hair thin and used only once, then safely disposed. There is absolutely no chance of infection. When you come in for your first visit we’ll do an intake, identify the exact areas of your toe or foot pain, and put a treatment plan together. You’ll be treated the first time you come in. It will be relaxing and you’ll already start feeling better after that first treatment.
Toe pain generally takes three treatments to resolve. For more chronic cases it may take a bit longer. Don’t let this pain stop your favorite activities. Come in, get treatment, and get better!
Book your appointment for acupuncture today! BOOK NOW. You can also call us at 919-819-8113 or 919-815-8115 and we’ll schedule an appointment for you. We look forward to treating you!

What our Clients are Saying
I developed pain in my big toe hiking the 14ers in Colorado. The foot doctor gave me injections which hurt like crazy and didn’t help. Orthotics didn’t help either. Then I tried acupuncture at Raleigh Acupuncture. Dr. Mark got rid of the toe pain in three treatments. I’ve been going to him ever since for various aches and pains. He’s truly amazing.
For the past 13 years I suffered from peripheral neuropathy in my calf, ankle and foot. I tried numerous medications, therapy with lights, neuromuscular massages and back decompression. I felt like I had stones under the ball of my foot. After the first couple of sessions with Dr. Mark, feelings returned to my calf, ankle and the “stone like feeling” under the ball of my foot began subsiding. Thanks to Dr. Mark, I am able now to walk without pain and discomfort. The extraordinary care and attentiveness I am receiving from Raleigh Acupuncture in treating my neuropathy is remarkable and I recommend them without reserve!
