Some patients come to our clinic with a specific diagnosis. “I have carpal tunnel syndrome,” they might declare during their intake exam. On the other hand, some patients arrive with a more general complaint – “My arm hurts!” In these cases, our job is to identify the source of their pain and create a treatment plan to address it. These arm pain acupuncture solutions are a collection of treatment protocols with the single goal of resolving arm pain.

Forearm Pain Relief
If you arrive with forearm pain, the first question we’ll ask is, “Where on the forearm do you feel the most pain?” For some, it will be along the Large Intestine channel, which typically indicates tendinitis of the lateral epicondyle of the humerus (tennis elbow). We have an excellent protocol for resolving tennis elbow. As you will see below, tennis and golf elbow are two frequently used arm pain acupuncture solutions.
Someone else might have pain inside the forearm near the wrist that radiates into the hand. “Do you ever get numbness in your fingers at night?” “Yes, how did you know?” they might reply. They probably have carpal tunnel syndrome. Our carpal tunnel protocol is second to none, generally resolving pain within four to six treatments. We’ve helped many patients avoid surgery for carpal tunnel over the years.
Elbow Pain Relief
Tennis elbow and golf elbow are two nasty cousins who reap pain on millions of Americans each year. They are forms of tendinitis at the humerus, the upper arm bone. The end of the humerus near the elbow has two protrusions with muscle and tendon attachments. The classic golf swing aggravates the medial epicondyle, while the tennis swing taxes the lateral epicondyle.
Acupuncture relieves both types of tendon inflammation by drawing off heat at the source of injury. It also rejuvenates the muscles, ligaments, and joints, providing quick, long-lasting relief. Some acupuncture points will be local to the injury, while others are located on the legs to promote improved qi and blood circulation to support overall healing. Most patients are back on the green or court within four sessions.
Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
This condition can affect the arm from the elbow, down the forearm, wrist, and into the hand and fingers. The median nerve is compressed at the wrist, causing severe nerve pain that radiates up and down the arm. While surgery can resolve this condition, acupuncture works just as well, without the trauma and cost.
At Raleigh Acupuncture, we have developed a highly effective protocol to relieve carpal tunnel syndrome. You’ll start feeling better after the first or second treatment, and typically we can have you substantially better after four sessions. The trick is to treat the affected channel, which in this case is the pericardium channel that runs down the inner arm. Inserting hair-thin needles into specific acupoints along this channel works miraculously to resolve pain. Our carpal tunnel treatment is one of our most popular arm pain acupuncture solutions.
Biceps and Triceps Arm Pain
Patients often come to our clinic complaining of pain in their biceps or triceps muscles. Sometimes this pain radiates down from the shoulder or up from the elbow, in which case we need to treat the source. Other times, the source of the pain is, in fact, in the belly of the biceps or triceps. Six channels run up and down the arms, four of which pass through these two muscles.
Strategically inserting these sterile, single-use, hair-thin needles into acupuncture points along the affected channels brings instant relief to the affected muscles. For example, if the muscles are in spasm, a gentle twitch will release them. More likely, the pain is due to blockage in the channel (qi stagnation), and the needle opens the blockage, allowing qi to flow again, which relieves the pain. In some cases, the needles alone are enough to resolve the issue, while in other cases, we employ electroacupuncture to create a more robust, targeted treatment.

What our Clients are Saying
I’m a massage therapist and never had a problem with wrist or hand pain until last year. My whole hand (right worse than left) starting throbbing and going numb with searing pain through the wrist, thumb and pointer finger. It was waking me several nights a week and interfering with my work. I started getting treated at Raleigh Acupuncture. It has dramatically reduced my pain, to the point where I can work and am not waking up at night. I think the nature of my work puts alot of strain on my wrists, but I’m not ready to give up my profession. I’ll need regular acupuncture for this, but I don’t mind. It’s the only thing that’s helped.
I’m a computer programmer and have been sitting at a desk working a mouse for years. It finally caught up with me a few months ago. I developed a terrible pain in my wrist that made my whole hand go numb, especially at night. The acupuncturist said the condition was easy to treat. My friend had surgery for the same thing. I figured I might as well try a few treatments. That’s all it took. The pain went away and hasn’t returned. Thank you Raleigh Acupuncture!
Raleigh Acupuncture cured my carpal tunnel syndrome for good! This has been plaguing me for years, waking me at night. My hands would go numb and shooting pains would go up my arms. I was nervous about the treatments beforehand, but they babied me! It wasn’t bad at all. Anyway, the pain is gone, gone, gone! I’m hooked on acupuncture now.
My whole arm went numb from my shoulder down to the fingers. It was a burning, numb pain that was terrible. I couldn’t sleep. The doctor told me to take pain meds, which didn’t help. They said I was stressed. My son has been helped at Raleigh Acupuncture so I booked an appointment. They treated my neck to take pressure off the nerves to my arm. After the first treatment my pain went down by half. And after six treatments the pain was gone. I was so relieved and thankful.
I’m a cook and work at a hospital kitchen. I developed terrible pain in my elbow, arm and hand, so bad that I had to take a leave of absence from work. I got 4 acupuncture treatments and my pain was gone. I was able to go back to work. I highly recommend Raleigh Acupuncture for elbow pain.
I developed tennis elbow and suffered for eight months. I was told to take ibuprofen 3 times a day for a month. Well, that didn’t help. After just 3 treatments my elbow pain was completely gone. Why did I wait so long??? Raleigh Acupuncture really did the job.
