That’s because acupuncture restores balance. For example, in menopausal women, a hormone change causes heat symptoms. Acupuncture helps the body adjust to the new hormone levels. Once the body has adjusted, the hot flashes and night sweats naturally resolve.
A similar process occurs when medications trigger an imbalance in the body. For example, tamoxifen decreases estrogen and progesterone levels in the bloodstream, reducing breast cancer recurrence.
